For centuries one of the only ways to know the time of the day was to count the bell tolls. Sometimes uses the SS. Giusto e Bartolomeo’s church tower of Legoli, in the province of Pisa, to reshape the way time is told. Using long range speakers, the time is sung by a choir of children. It’s a chant of time, the vitality of children instills new lymph in the medieval town, mainly inhabited by an elderly population. Furthermore the half hours are randomly announced by the recorded choir using words from daily life, such as: Il caffè (the coffee), il pane (the bread), le chiavi (the keys).
